With the OP or with me? (what did I do in 2001?....Uh...join AT? )

When someone (like the OP) gains worldwide notoriety for something they may have done or not done or maybe just made it up or maybe acted like they made it up to cover up the fact they may or may not have really done it....they shouldn't draw attention to it.

Get my point?

How's he drawing attention to himself? The two stories are very different.

Possibly, you joined AT too late to to appreciate the ruckus that the OP caused. Not to me...I'm just a nobody...but to himself and here at AT.

You sound like you're feeling sorry for yourself. That's pretty pathetic.

WTF? Uh, no. How do you figure that I'm feeling sorry for myself?

The OP started a thread which is controversial b/c HE/SHE/IT started a thread w/this particular topic.

It would be like Michael Jackson (who has been legally cleared of any child molestation charges) starting a thread about little boys and their little school uniforms.

care to point out the similarities between OP's 2001's post and the current link?

I don't see any

Eff off. It was mildly controversial SIX YEARS AGO.

For the love of science.

it wasn't just mildly controversial. it's the single most noted event on this board, and it made the news actually.

I'm too tired to argue. Been up all night no thanks to allergies. But I can't go on through life avoiding subjects just because of what I did. Am I to avoid talking about Swedish blondes also? People who found it within their heart to forgive me understand what I mean. Those who don't find it within themselves to forgive me are actually hurting themselves by not recognizing that the past is the past and by bringing the pain back up when they see an occasion. Holding grudges isn't healthy. It's hard to express what I want to convey with words but some of you may understand.

It made 'The Register', which is the Internet equivelent of toilet paper with Jokes printed on it.

Six years in the lifespan of this cesspit is quite some time.

Those who cares and point it out are the ones who A) don't get laid B) have no friends C) get off on pointing out the flaws of someone online

Fact is online is all fun and games. It is entertainment. If someone takes it beyond that point and takes it seriously .. then they need to turn off the PC

My suggestion is ignore those who care .. they are not the ones you should waste your time with. However, I don't think anyone in this thread is pointing it out in a negative manner.

I didn't pay much attention to these forums while the scandal went on, and I wasn't personally affected by it, so I never did have a problem with the OP. I do think it is time to get over it though. I don't think he ever intended to drag it on as far as he did, and then he just got lost in it without a good way out. He didn't mean to hurt people.

dennil, as far as I am concerned, you have the freedom to post whatever topics you want, but if you wanted to try to avoid this type of flaming, you could have worded the topic a little different. For instance, even using "Internet suicide pact murderer sentenced to death" would have prevented the confusion. When I came into the thread, seeing the topic "Internet murderer sentenced to death." I was expecting you to link to an article about your own scandal. Although, I have a feeling you were INTENDING to incite this discussion... and if thats the case, Well Done :p

Title altered as per your idea. Thanks for the suggestion.:)

I can live with the flaming as I went to confession for this long ago and made my peace with God on this matter. I just think the people who still react so strongly hurt themselves.
