Internet stops for 99 seconds every 50 minutes

Internet stops for 99 seconds every 50 minutes..... well not really just estimation. sometimes every 20 minutes.

this pattern activates usually for 5 months then normal. 7 months later it apear again. it happend like this for years now....


say i surf the net then and click on something.... then it take forever to load... after 99 seconds or so it show page cannot be found. then refresh then it work. it is not browser problem cause when i play online games it affects too so it is internet problem.


anyone have any idea? do you think school near by have something to do with it? maybe school suck all the juice? since i have cable broadband which cable share juice generally but then even when school hour is over it still happend.


i pay for internet. cable broadband. i dont believe someone is jacking my juice too cause i lock the signal and make it invisble. my relative come and want to connect the internet on his phone... always ask me which connection is yours.... i say oh i lock it so no one can jack my connection and make it slow.

So are you using wireless when this happens? Or are you directly connected to the modem?

Have you tried Google DNS?

whats DNS? thats why i google right? i will see.

no i am not using wireless. i use wired via ethernet line. router also connected. wireless for my laptop.

even when i dont have the laptop.... it still happend. before i have the laptop i still use router for my 2 other desktop computers. all use wired via ethernet line.

now whats connected wired on router is only 1 desktop and laptop for wireless and still happend. sloppy connection. 99 seconds no connection every 20 to 50 minutes.

also very rarely that no connection at all for 1 hour.... had to unplug/replug modem then it work but sometimes dont work. and super rarely that it wont have connection at all for 10 hours and up.... replug/unplug modem and still wont work. but lets just ignore it sinc eit happend rarely.

it happend mostly is no connection for 99 seconds every 20 to 50 minutes.




ok i just googled DNS. land on wikipedia. it says its like a phone book for internet which assign to. so what you think about DNS? does the problem might have to do with DNS? how to fix it?
