Small team and I are developing a new adult-themed social networking and community based website. We're looking for web developers, web designers, and graphic artists. People willing to beta test it for us once we get a prototype, who can remain tight lipped to others, are also welcome. Everyone's working for free until we go live and bring in revenue off an ad model. PM for contact information.

Edit:
Adult-themed = dating, casual encounters, adult material, etc.

Until you have the money to finance your dream it's gonna remain just that...a dream.

wouldn't this be the same stuff as those 'adult friend finder' websites? Explain what exactly is going to make yours anymore special.

This is intended to be more like Facebook/Digg for sex and porn, social networking. AFF is just for encounters.

so everyone gets to see what porn you're looking at and who you're screwing?...

And nothing says legitimate like a couple of buddies on the internet looking for free workers!

Well you've got to start somewhere . . . Anything is possible.
Great line, you made my day.

I've been thru a lot of these let's-get-rich startups and had a lot of fun and learned a lot.

Here's a real way to make a lot of money from your idea - write down the steps you're using to get your site up and running, slap an ebook cover on it, and sell the package as How To Start An Adult-themed Web 2.0 website. Mention facebook, etc in the sales page, charge a few hundred dollars with a money-back guarantee to anyone who doesn't make a bunch of money from it once their site is up and running. How-to-make-$-on-the-internet info is worth a fortune, and almost nobody who buys the stuff follows thru. They're looking for magic, not work.

You've got a winning mix of how-to-etc, mention of the "cool" new web venues, and porn - awesome.

Hmm, I may do this myself.

Anyway, good luck.

wait you want all the male geeks here, and only them, to beta test your dating site? what's wrong with this picture...

I designed a social networking site with a few developers (web designer here), and in my course of research I've already seen quite a few wheels that seem to spin in this way (we ended up heavily modifying a free platform), it's a tough market to crack as people want A) Privacy and B) Ease of use. It's tough to get people to maintain multiple social networking profiles (See: The Exodus of people from services like Hi 5 and Friendster when Myspace and Facebook came out, even more recently see Myspace's traffic decreases in parallel to Facebook's increases.

People willing to work for free do not have the knowledge that you need to build out and put time into a large, successful, functioning social media website. Everyone seems to think there are no more than eight people working at Facebook.
