Small team and I are developing a new adult-themed social networking and community based website. We're looking for web designers. People willing to beta test it for us once we get a prototype, who can remain tight lipped to others, are also welcome. Everyone's working for free until we go live and bring in revenue off an ad model. PM for contact information.

Edit:
Adult-themed = dating, casual encounters, adult material, etc.

By adult-themed, do you mean dating, casual encounters, etc or just older, non-college people?

wouldn't this be the same stuff as those 'adult friend finder' websites? Explain what exactly is going to make yours anymore special.

This is intended to be more like Facebook/Digg for sex and porn, social networking. AFF is just for encounters.

What makes your idea any better than any of the current sites?
Do you have any experience with startups?
Do you know that we're in the worst possible economic times to start something that's sole form of revenue is advertisements?
Who is taking lead?
How are you going to split revenues?

and the list goes on... (i'm not interested)

Just FYI adult social networks/social news sites already exist. You are going to have a hard time finding people to work for free unless you can show that your idea is different/better than existing ones.

I think this is a great idea... all of the other websites just look shady as hell. I think if you could get something totally legitmate going, this would rock.

I think in order for this to work well, you need a really good way to keep under 18s out and keep really, really creepy people out. Any way to screen applicants? Maybe perform background checks? Sounds like a hassle, but you could potentially advertise it as the safest casual encouter site on the net. I actually have many, many ideas for you to work off of.

I am interested in helping... please let me know if you need any other work done and I'll see what I can do for you.

rofl, background checks to join an adult website. The best way to keep youngsters and spammers out is to charge $ for an account. The youngsters won't have money or a credit card, and for the spammers it won't be economical. The downside obviously is that you drive legit people away with that fee.

Sure, I understand. However -- that safety factor isn't there. It sounds like a hassle, yes, but business is business. Anything is possible.

It's the doers who get screwed. The non-doers will have tons of input about everything, but no true expertise.

It's the programmers/designers who get screwed here. They spend the most time, give the most ...

Just buy one of those off the shelf sites. No $$$? ... get people to re-make it for free? Nice ...

Sorry to thread crap ... I just have had plenty of people approach me for programming services.

What does your current team consist of? What do they bring to the table? Why should production people work for your team? How much long do you estimate before revenue comes in? How much revenue? How will it be divided to the 'volunteers'? Assume that each developer (working elsewhere) makes $60k a year and the project takes 6 months to get off the ground, will each developer get $30k in a reasonable time? Will the developers get continuing profit from their work or just a 1 time payment? Do they get stay with the project or will they get laid off after the work is done?
