I have several computer on a LAN at home. I wanted to share internet (256k) between three computers. I used a D-Link DI-704 four port router to link the computers and share internet. After I got it hooked up and configured it worked fine. Then lately the internet has become extremely slow. I tried hooking the internet directly to one of the computers and it worked great. It was normal speed. I tried the router again and it was fast at first, but it slowed down shortly. Does anone have any idea on how to fix this problem?

If it DSL could be Router's MTU setting slowing it down.

If the Router does not have MTU settings you might try the computers MTU settings.

To check and change MTU. Download DrTCP: <a target=new class=ftalternatingbarlinklarge href="http://www.dslre

I have downloaded that program and my ethernet adapter and my dial up modem show up but not my router. Also what do I need to put in for the MTU, and how do I do that?

Check to see if you have SYN flooding checked. I've seen Routers casue their own flooding.

The Router will not show up in this program.

If the Router have MTU open setting (many Routers do not make this setting open) it will be in one of the Router's internal menus.

As for the computers. Strating point for MTU:

Cable = 1500

DSL = 1492
