Internet sharing question with PC-Cillin PLZ HELP!

Hi all, new to this forum and hoping someone can shed some light.

At home I have two comps, both with Win XP, networked toegether without a router (direct connection with crossover cable). Up until now, they have been networking fine, and with the slave computer able to access the shared internet through my computer. I have just installed PC-Cillin Internet Security 2005 on the main system and the Firewall in the program is blocking the slave computer from getting on the internet.

My question is, how do I edit the firewall and create an exception to allow the other computer to access the internet? Strangely the slave computer WILL connect to a chat program, but no go on the browser. I know the problem is the firewall with the new PC-Cillin because when I disable it, the slave computer gets online right away.

Thanks in advance for you help.

I only installed and use the AV portion of PC-Cillan, and instead use Sygate's firewall (a free version is available).
However (if you're on broadband), I'd also recommend getting and using a router as the primary firewall.

Thanks for the reply.

I thought routers purpose were more so for connecting/networking more than 2 computers and sharing broadband internet. Didn't know they were independantly capable of firewalling.

In my case, I have 2 PC's with WinXP networked together through direct cable connection (no router), sharing a broadband internet connection, and both have PC-Cillin Internet Security 2005.

In regards to my initial concern. Trend has emailed me back with the solution. So the problem is solved, and both comps have the firewalls running through PC-Cillin.

Isn't this safe enough?
