internet sharing help please

OK, bought a netlinq usb cable to go from computer to computer..drivers installed ok..can transfer files from computer to computer...can access each computer from each one fine...using win2k on both...

can share cdroms, scanner, printer etc..but not my internet connection...

winroute lite came with it for the internet sharing...followed it's instructions to a t many times and cannot access the internet from my guest computer. tried another trial software from zdnet...tried everything i could find on just doing it with win2k internet sharing option that came with win2k..but to no avail..it cannot connect thru the network...yet still have access between the computers...any one have any experience with this and may know what am missing, or is the promises of MS and these software vendors bogus in saying you can easily share internet connections? thanks..t

yes, set IE to connect via Lan...tried all the different ip's and auto find ip, gateways and everything....still nothing..thanks for the reply..t

How are you connected to the Internet?

What protocol the USB uses?

I would guess that the culprit is the Direct USB connection, it usually unorthodox type of Networking.
