internet file sharing or router?

man, i'm a noob, i'm mainly a 98 guy, and didn't know that win2000 and winXP had internet file sharing.

anyway i bought the router already, and from what i read below, i router is definitely the way to anyway. Correct?

just trying to validate a $90 purchase (hopefully my rebates will be here soon so it actually becomes $50)

what are major advantages between the two? is one significantly better than the other?

Stick with the router...it's much better than ICS. Easier to configure, you don't need a computer permanently on to have an internet connection, and it won't slow down your comp.

Yup, best $50-$90 you'll have spent. A router is very much the way to go plus is a tad bit more secure. WiFi is an interesting option, too, perhaps for later.
