A friend of mine installed PeoplePC on her computer and then uninstalled it by going through the Windows unistall program. Now when she starts Internet Explorer she gets an error message and it wont work. It also says Internet Explorer Provided by PeoplePC at the top. I had her try and reinstall Internet Explorer but this did not work. Any ideas?

There are a couple of ways to repair IE. If your not using XP and are using IE 6 go to add remove programs and select Microsoft IE 6. Click change remove to get the repair option. If you are using XP try this:
Repair Internet Explorer 6
The two procedures listed below have restored functionality to IE6 for many users experiencing problems.

Note: Both methods listed require that the Microsoft Windows XP CD-ROM be available.

Method 1: Microsoft Internet Explorer 6.x Repair for Windows XP

From the Start menu, select Run.
In the Open field, type sfc /scannow (Note: There is a space between sfc and /scannow)
Select the OK button.
Follow the prompts throughout the System File Checker process.
Reboot the computer when System File Checker completes.
Method 2: Microsoft Internet Explorer 6.x Repair for Windows XP

From the Start menu, select Search, select All Files and Folders.
Select More Advanced Options and place a checkmark beside Search Hidden Files and Folders option.
Ensure that Search System Folders and Search Subfolders are also checked.
In the All or Part of the File Name box, type ie.inf
In the Look In drop-down menu, select C: or the letter of the hard drive that contains the Windows folder.
Click the Search button.
In the search results pane, find the ie.inf file located in Windows\Inf folder.
Right click the ie.inf file and click Install on the context menu.
Reboot the computer when the file copy process is complete.

For your second problem maybe this will help.
Restoring the MS animated logo in MSIE 4.x and 5.x:
To restore the animated Internet Explorer logo, delete the BrandBitmap and SmBrandBitmap string values under the following registry key:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Toolbar
After you make this change, quit Registry Editor and restart your computer.

Adding a Customized Windows Title to Internet Explorer, MSIE 3.x and up:
Using Registry Editor, add the String value "Window Title" (without quotation marks) to the following key in the registry:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main
The data value is the title you want to appear on the Internet Explorer window.
NOTE: In Windows NT, the value should be type REG_SZ instead of String.

Removing a Customized MSIE 3.x and up Title Bar:
Using Registry Editor, delete the Window Title value in the registry key:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main
When you delete this value, "Microsoft Internet Explorer" becomes the default window title.
