Internet Explorer Woes

Hey there, long time lurker, first time poster , lol

Some time during the day yesterday, internet explorer decided to act up .. while viewing a web site, when I try to click on a link that opens a new window, the newly opened window comes up blank.

I have never had any problems with it before, so I downloaded netscape and it works fine, so I know it isnt my cable line acting up ..

Any ideas? I reset everything to the defaults, I tried shutting down the firewall, I had a pop up stopper, but i uninstalled it, I tried to repair it, short of reinstalling, is there anything else I can check ?
😕

Went through this prob a while ago and got the answer here on the forums. I can't remember exactly what it was. Involved typing a command in to do something to a DLL file then hitting the button to reset settings to default in IE.

I'll search the forum and try to find the thread. I think it was in the O/S forum but I'm not sure.

Looks like the original thread is gone, but I did find one where I had pasted the instructions for another guy...that was luck. Anyway, here is what fixed it for me:

<< Click on Start | Run and enter: "REGSVR32 URLMON.DLL" (sans quotes). You should then have a dialog tell you that the procedure was completed. Next, fire up Microsoft's Web Browser (IE) and Click Tools | Internet Options | Programs | then click the "Reset Web Settings" button. Now, check to see if Web links work like they should in your e-mail client. With any luck, you'll have returned your system to normal. >>

Hope this helps.
