I don't really use IE, but I don't like the fact that I can't use it.

iexplorer.exe is not Internet Explorer. The correct file name is iexplore.exe. I would scan your computer for viruses and malware to be sure it hasn't been compromised.

that would be a typo on my part. I checked and it is iexplore.exe

I would also run some scans with a good antivirus and antitrojan programs.
Also with good spyware programs .. It could be an infection, possibly Cool Web Search
