i am working on a freinds pc and everytime she navigates to www.hgtv.com IE shutsdown. it has happened at a few other sites randomly but not everytime at this site. any help?
as i said it is a friends pc not mine. hahaha. I have disabled all the popup stoppers and ran adaware se/spybot s&d virus scan, I have no idea what is going on
I'd also run 'hijack this' and 'cwshredder' as well. I went to the site and didn't see anything obviously 'dynamic' (flash, applet, etc) that would make it different than any other page. I did see a 'javascript error' message being suppressed (i have them set to be suppressed), but I see those on all kinds of sites.
btw, the message was:
error: Invalid Character
line: 2
char: 7
url: www.hgtv.com
I looked at source code but the page references about 8 javascript library files and I'm not about to start parsing them. Try installing 'mozilla firefox' at -- www.mozilla.org and see what it does at that site.
