Internet Explorer only allows one window to function

I have had the ongoing issue for about 2 weeks now. I can't link it to any software installed or anything of the like.

It is my company laptop, so I can;t reformat, and my help(less)desk is stumped.

If I open internet explorer, it opens fine, If I open a second window, the first window goes non-responsive, if I open a new window, each subsequent window goes non-responsive (but doesn't show not responding in task manager)

Any thoughts?

I have every update (win XP SP2) all patches, all antispyware, AdAware and spybot, I followed all the cleaning instructions on Wilders Security Forums, and nothing.

Laptop is an IBM A31, P4 2.0 ghz, 512 Ram, 40 gig HD. I have switched Ram out (although it is the same ram I had for the past year and a half) without sucess.

Any ideas out there?
