Internet Explorer loses cookies and history after 1 day?

I just noticed this problem today. My IE history is blank except for today, and my AT auto-login didn't work. The stranger part is that I always hibernate my computer, so the problem isn't in startup/shutdown. IE is set to store history for 20 days and to accept all cookies. I have installed SP2. Any ideas what could be wrong?

is your hard drive close to full? sometimes that can screw up the cookies/cache...

does anyone else use the computer? like a little brother that visits questionable sites and is hiding the tracks?

checked for spyware?

in response to WW's questions:

23GB free

only me

I don't think there's any spyware...I use Adaware and Spybot regularly.

Well, the AT auto-login issue is explainable. AT just went through a major forum upgrade over the weekend. Everyone was forced to re-login.

Ok that explains part of it. However, my internet explorer history is still being erased every day. Any ideas how to fix this?

try moving the location of the temporary internet files folder in Internet Options. bump up the space allotted..

maybe do a reinstall / check installation....

Umm, by running Ad Aware and other spyware programs, you actually are getting rid of the cookies yourself. Ad Aware recognizes all cookies as a type of spyware, and so it gets rid of them. Try NOT running spyware programs for a while...

I haven't run anti-spyware programs for a few days and the problem happens every day. What's going on?

Ok it seems to have fixed itself. I did a virus scan and removed a virus and now the problem is gone. Thanks for all your ideas.

Hmm..problem is starting again. It seems like my Temporary Internet Files are getting deleted very often (I watched them disappear when I was looking in the Temporary Internet Files). Any more ideas?
