Internet Explorer having problems connected

I am running XP with a DSL connected to my computer via a LAN (cisco 678 router, 100 mps switch).

Now Internet explorer usually will not connect and thinks I am offline. If I try to use it, it starts bringing up that prompt for a dialup connection.

However Netscape connects just fine, and so do Yahoo, AOLIM, Morpheus, Weatherbug, etc.

I use AOL via TCPIP "bring your own connection" also and it works.
However explorer sometimes starts to work when I am online with AOL, but when I get off aol then it will not work.

Also sometimes I do get explorer to connect, but then a few minute later it stops and brings up that dial up prompt again.

HELP

Have you set up your IE so it does not dial out....goto to the properties for IE and than goto connections and make sure that it is set up so it does not dial out.......and than click lan settings and click auto detect...that might work....

I did that but then it keeps changing the dial up setting back to where it will use them.

Sometimes when I have it go try to automatically get the settings it works for a bit...

Goto Internet Options than goto the Connections Tab. On the Connections tab click set up and run through the wizard to setup for a LAN.

Yeah I tried that to. It seems to be working fine now. I dont know if Morpheus was possibly causing problems but I do not have it running in the background right now

good to hear that its working...i had heard that there was some problem with morpheousl..you might look around about the post and aditionaly you might check the settings on morpheous to make sure they are correct.😎
