Operating system: Win 2000 Pro SP2
Internet Explorer: 5.50.4807.2300

Sometimes, when I click a link the browser becomes unresponsive and I have to 'End Task' it. This is happening every few minutes now and is intolerable. :( Any ideas?

Thanks!

So do I.

Have a nice day. :)

As for your browser, see if there's a patch to remedy the problem...

But it just might be your connection, check that out.

On the other hand, you can always download and run Opera. It is fast.

IE 6 is the way to go. I used IE 4.72 until I got 6 because I thought 5, 5.1 and 5.5 were total garbage.

My IE 5.5 would hang when a link didnt load, it'd hang the whole system. Then I noticed it was really any network job that was waiting for a response would hang the whole pc. It would only hang for a few seconds, but it was very annoying.

I knew w2k didnt identify my old linksys nic properly, and was using a generic driver, so I got a new nic and swapped them out and it's fine now. Maybe not the problem as you have, but it maybe worth checking it out.
