Internet explorer and saving pictures

For some reason, when I right click in Internet Explorer to 'save picture as' it always comes up wanting to save a a .BMP and not .JPG or .GIf or whatever. Anyone know what's going on? 😕

That'll do it. Its a well known problem with IE.

I have always been able to refresh the page several times ...until I get it to load as a Jpeg when I don't want to delete my cache. Another method, I sometimes use is to copy the bitmap down and convert it with Irfanview.

I clean my cache between internet sessions and copy the jpegs out of the temporary internet folder in large groups ...it's alot faster than right clicking/save as or dragging the jpegs to a folder.

My XP is doing the same thing right now .... WIN98 SE never did this to me ..... sucky windows
