Internet Explorer always on.

I have a cable connection to the Internet. I also have Black Ice Defender installed and Trojan Cleaner for my outgoing mail on my server. The problem is, however, with my second computer, my own PC. When I get up in the A.M. there are always seven or eight popup advertising windows open on my desktop. When I run ctrl+alt+del I find that "iexplore" is running, even if I close my browser from File, close. Why is the Internet Explorer 5.5 behaving like a TSR?

What other applications do you have? Sounds like you have some "adware" running, like Gator or something similar. Get "Adaware" (freebie) and find out what's running:
