Well from reading a few other forums it seems like beta 1 is a waste to install anyway. Some say it isn't even usable if at all. I'll wait for a public release and the IE team to fix a few bugs or two before trying this IE out. I was highly anticipating the IE7 beta though and was willing to give it a whirl if I was selected as a beta tester.

It works perfectly so far... ;)

Well windows update doesnt work.

Known issue, it's a beta.

People download leaked betas from M$ all the time. The legal department will never be able to keep up

Irrelevant.

I kinda doubt they really want to though they probably read the feedback from the forums to find out what to fix and what features to add.

There are plenty of ways for legitimate beta testers to submit their feedback to Microsoft.

Well I'm using it right now (got mine through my MSDN subscription) and it has a few bugs. HP's website all the text shows incredibly small. Even when I try and set it to the largest size it's still very small.

Dislikes
-I can't customize the toolbars to include buttons I want. This will probably be fixed since it's in IE7 on Vista
-There is no right click and "Open in a New Tab" option. Hopefully they add this.
-I don't like the fact that even if you are only using one tab it still shows it which eats up real estate on my screen.
-I can't get rid of the MSN Search box from the top right.

Likes
-Very fast. The machine I'm using it on now is a Dual PIII Xeon 866 and it's very quick to load.
-Tabs - Yeah I know other browsers have had it for a while but it's good to see Microsoft has finally implemented them.
-Anti-phishing filter is very nice. I look forward to seeing how well this works.
-RSS integrated. I personally don't need this but I can see how some people really like having this.

Go under Add/Remove Programs and you need to make sure "Show Updates" is checked, else it won't show up in the list.

Already did! I'm a long time beta tester so I know the drill. There's no point in posting in complaining about something if you don't submit any feedback to them about it.

Quoted for truth. I figured you knew what to do, but I was just making sure ;)

A blindman could see this coming! How do I get rid of it!!!!!!!!!!!!!! My question is Why did you install it? It is a Beta 1 for goodness sakes!

If you didn't back-up before you installed it, you may be hosed. I don't know but you could try to do a system restore to a previous time. There is a very good chance that will not work either. I haven't messed with this beta yet. Right now Firefox has got it all over MS IE anyway.

If you are going to play with fire, make sure you have a way out. Make a known good image of your system or be prepared to format and reinstall. There is always a price.

You are doing the right thing by reporting this to your employer, but unfortunately the Microsoft legal department will be like Pandora trying to get all the nasties back in the box. Once it's out, it's out... Just like the Activation Process, and Genuine Advantage crap in < 24 hours there was a work around. I knew people with the " Devils Own " Pro Corp version of XP a month before XP was released for resale. Software companies have waged a battle over this for years and haven't made one inch of progress. Pirates, Pirate and always will. There is a better mousetrap, then along comes a better mouse...

I do think MS leaks things on purpose just for feedback on these boards. Sneaky... Yes, Underhanded... Yes, but an excellent avenue for feedback from the average users that are NOT Beta Testers.. knowingly anyway.

Here is an example of an issue with IE 7. The fonts on HP's site are extremely small. I did verify that the font setting was set to medium.

Yes, I believe this is known and I'm certain that Microsoft is aware of this issue as well.
