Thanks! I'm a diehard Firefox user, but I'll give this a try.

[Edit]
How do you uninstall IE7 Beta? It crashes everytime on my system before the home page is displayed.

It installed on mine. Just make sure all programs are closed. It works for some.

This is made for Windows 32-bit.

It has an RSS/XML Feed, and anti-phishing detection feature. It has the new GUI, and tabbed browsing support.

Very quick and crisp-feeling ...

I'm running ZoneAlarm version 6.0.631.003 and got the warning ...IE 7 is trying to monitor your mouse movements and keyboard strokes...

No need to add the Google toolbar anymore.

I like the location of the refresh button.

It seems to be saving every favicon to the cache on every visit to a website ...instead of just saving it when you initially bookmark a site that has one.

...and a phishing filter!

After a bit of experimenting, I learned that Ctrl+Shift+Click-a-link opens the link in a new tab but without opening the tab for viewing.

Ctrl+Click-a-link opens the link in a new tab and shows it.

The original Shift+Click opens a new window.

This isn't legit. It's not a public beta, and should not be distributed to the public as far as I know.

Exactly what I was thinking. Eek, from what I understand, no public beta till at least beta 2 is released sometime next year.

Oh I see, they haven't released it for the public... I'm still keeping it :p

It is legit, and so is the site.

Here's another site with more info.

No, it isn't. The only legitimate place to get IE7 is through MSDN with a subscription.

I've edited the original post to show this now. I guess they weren't supposed to give a link?

Well from reading a few other forums it seems like beta 1 is a waste to install anyway. Some say it isn't even usable if at all. I'll wait for a public release and the IE team to fix a few bugs or two before trying this IE out. I was highly anticipating the IE7 beta though and was willing to give it a whirl if I was selected as a beta tester.

No they weren't and I have forwarded it to our legal department.

The betas (Vista and IE) are not intended for general consumption. They are for developers and other accepted beta testers. Microsoft has stated this explicitly, and this site has decided to host the file anyway.

Not to mention that downloading a beta from a site that is not Microsoft is very unwise. So getting this link taken down protects Microsoft customers as well.

People download leaked betas from M$ all the time. The legal department will never be able to keep up. I kinda doubt they really want to though they probably read the feedback from the forums to find out what to fix and what features to add.
