Internet Explorer 6

I am running Win98 SE and went to the windows update and installed the IE update. I am now running 6.00.2800.1106 Internet Explorer 6 Service Pack 1 (Windows XP SP1). When I go to Hotmail to use the E-mail, I get "!HTTP/1.1 302 Redirected Server: Microsoft-IIS/5.0 Date: Sun, 15 Dec 2002 23:39:44 GMT P3P:CP="BUS CUR ....." instead of the Hotmail page. I have to use Netscape to get to Hotmail Email page.
Any suggestions how to get to fix this so that I can go to Hot mail's page?
Thanks

I also have a question regarding IE6.. I see no need to start a new thread....hope you don't mind

My friend wants to update to IE6 but is on a DUN connection. I have cable and he asked me to d/l it for him but the set up program tells me that it detects a current version and the dl is terminated. How can I get this for him and put it on a disk so he won't have to?

Thira28: I have had big problems with SP1 and will not touch it, uninstall and get hold of a copy of the original IE6.

Wheezer: Use corporate windows update to search for the full download file, it will be bigger than if downloaded on the specific machine (because it has to include all the variables) but should still be far quicker than him downloading it:

EDIT: link may not work as desirbed, took me to the system specific windows update!....Microsoft never make it simple.....

IE6 = no good for win9x......
good for winxp/2k...

if it doesn't work...revert back to the older version.....like they say, if it works don't fvck w/ it...lol 🙂

and wheezer...
just change the CD key of your friend's winxp.....there are instructions on google on how to do this...then change to a corp cd key...
