Internet Explorer 6 --Why top of page changes?

db

From time to time I will get a totally different "top" to IE when surfing; that is, all of the address bar area, menu bar, title bar---all that stuff that's up in the rectangle at the top of the browser. It changes from the usual IE top to a "more modern" and simple/clean one and that at the upper right has the windows logo ball, minimize, resize, and X all in line with eachother, instead of the logo being under the 3 boxes.
It just changes for no apparent reason when I go to a different site or open another window......

Also, in the view button is the option to "autohide", which does not exist in the typical browser top.

??

IE is the only browser.
And W2K new clean install.
Actually it's a pretty nice browser heading, but it won't stay!

not sure about Win2k but in WinXP see the tab 'View' in the IE browser window (beside File Edit) single left click see Toolbars Lock the Toolbars ...that might help

Try hitting the F11 key. That changes it from the one view to the other (at least it does for sure in Windows XP but probably all Windows versions). Otherwise it's just a different function key. I had that happen a few times before too, just find the function key that toggles it on/off and its no problem at all.
