When choosing the repair option - "Internet Explorer 6 cannot be repaired" is the error message.

Details: error calling DllRegisterServer H:\WINNT\system32\dxtrans.dll

I ran sfc, without success and I have reinstalled IE6.

Any suggestions? (Aside from using Mozilla.)

If you are running XP, and have installed SP1, you can uninstall and remove IE6. Then you can reinstall it after you clean things up, and the problem should go away.

Thanks corky-g, for the response;

I am, running 2K. I uninstalled and reinstalled, and then ran SFC. Are you suggesting that I should uninstall, run SFC and then reinstall SP1? Or is there some other way to "clean things up"?

Sorry - I don't know what you can do with W2K. As part of the Microsoft vs the world settlement, SP1 for XP makes IE6 uninstallable so you can use a competing browser. What can be uninstalled can also be reinstalled. As for W2K - I don't have a clue. :(

Damn...you read my mind. I must ask though...what's wrong with Mozilla?

Its not that anything is wrong with Mozilla - its just that I really don't see why my emailer won't work without completely reinventing the wheel. Somewhere deep in the labyrinth as which has been turned off that merely needs to be turned back on. Of course that applies to just about every windows problem!

Corky-g; I did uninstall IE6, returning W2K to the pre-IE6 condition - in this case IE5.0. However that did not restore functionality to Eudora. I tried RegClean after switching back to IE5.
