Internet Explorer 5.5 vs. 6? Which is FASTER?

Which one? Is 6 all that much of an improvement for interface?

I've stayed away from IE 6 because I've heard it's slower. Although I don't have any benchmarks to back my claims, it seems to be the general concensus...

Been using 6 now for almost 4 weeks on 3 systems. Can't really see any difference in speed. 6 leaks resources at a lesser rate and does seem smoother in its transitions.

it seems all the same to me - i noticed that IE 6 has issues w/ some links (i.e. borderfree), whereas IE5.5 doesn't.
