What a ripoff.

This thread has inspired me to go on an internet date so ATOT can have a thread with some follow through. Off to craigslist I go.

Dude, WTF???!!

Where'd you meet her? What did you do? Does she live up to her friggen pics? Did you establish a second date? You do know that you need to ask for a second date before ending the first date, right??

You posted that it went well at about 5:15PM EST. That means that the "date" couldn't have gone that well; otherwise, you wouldn't be home before dinner.

Oh, and when does the Dateline episode air?

You're a moron.

Been on 40+ internet dates.. the common factor is that these people tend to be emotionally crippled or just into sex. not the norm but the last real relationship i had was someone i met in school, the internet just hasn't stuck.

My life is empty and I derive joy from detailed accounts of other people's experiences and pretending those happened to me.

So pretty please, with sugar on top...give us the motherfreakin' details. :|

Finally, a thread I can post my detailed experience in too: I went on a first date Tuesday with someone I met online.

Edit: Sorry for the lack of detail: it went well.

Such a terse update means that they are already planning on moving in together in a week and he's embarrassed... right?

I might as well just play along and provide my own story which I'll never expand. I'm conversing with someone on the net now. It turns out we live a few blocks away and go to the same gym. I haven't seen her at the gym nor has she seen me, but we both see some of the same other people who go to the gym. For example a lady who wears a straw hat and might be bald.

Going to the gym today and tomorrow. I'm hoping to see her there before an official meeting. Seems slightly more romantic. I mean what's more romantic than seeing each other all sweaty and gross after an hour on the elliptical?

Yeah, it's not that big of a deal. Just another way to meet people. After your initial contact it's pretty much like any other relationship. There is still some stigma attached to it though.

To way too many people, if you don't meet the skank in a bar, then you're some e-loser :p.

Since I just moved into the city, I've been pokin' around online a bit to see if I can find interesting people. Problem is... I've lowered my search radius down a bit (like 10 miles) and before, my search radius was about 50 (preferring someone not 50 miles away). So the search radius of 50 included the people that my 10 mile radius now includes :p.

I actually found some interesting girls on MySpace though . But it seems, much to my dismay, that MySpace removed one of the nice search features where you could type a keyword in and then narrow it down by location. Now you can type the keyword in, but no more narrowing :(. So if I want to find some chick that likes... say video games, I get to search through 5000 (the max search results amount) people ;).

EDIT:

Well.. she may need to shower. And maybe she is tired and can't do it herself....

Well, if you both enjoy spending time together (be it gaming or whatever), why not give it a shot :).

I have her facebook so i know that she isn't someone she says she is. I have to drive pretty far to her area so she really has to suggest where we go.

This would be my first time doing this...how many of you have? I keep thinking its going to be terribly awkward.

Tell her to wear a sailor moon outfit and get it off to a good start.

Seriously if it's too far to date why go there. I don't think you have sex lined up basing your new realationship on japan and music.

I talked to my ex yesterday who I sort of met online, but not really. Before she called me she was at the gym and while on an exercise bike the power went out throughout the whole gym. She said it was pretty hilarious to see people on the treadmills run into the front of the machine and people fall off the ellipticals.

Hm... all I have to do is rig a power outage to my cell phone's remote feature, then I can stand in front of her, flip the switch, then catch her heroically as she falls.
