Shaw Cable (Extreme) 5 Mb down/1 Mb up 🙂

Approx. $45 Cdn./month.

Right now I'm getting 3Mb/s down, 400Kb/s up for $95/mo now with about 65-70 channels.

Next week I will be getting 5Mb/s down, 800Kb/s up, for $42/mo with 80 cable channels.

Im unsure if the UK supports that speed just yet!! I think you can get 8mbs but thats only in London (230miles away!)

My girlfriend just moved back to Sweden. She is not in a position to pay for DSL right now. Any Swedes here that know what the least expensive high speed internet is, in the city of Stockholm? I heard that these services are cheaper in some scandinavian countries but thats just something I heard. If it's like 12 or 14 $ a month, I would pay for like six months in advance for this service for her. That way we can talk over FWD and save money ..

I am also waiting for verizon fiber network. seen them doing work everywhere and is supposed to be here later this year or so. Doesnt bother me. only thing i want is faster uploads for my ftp server.

Not to start a war but arent the only things hosted on UK sites Warez sites and child porn stuff? the stuff that isnt really allowed to be hosted on american servers.

you shouldnt really complain about having a lower bandwidth broadband. anything is better than dial up.

2750 down 225 up -- advertised is 3000/256 , so not bad either.

i think you'll find Asia is the biggest for Warez/reverse engineered shit, and USA currently hosted the biggest child porn ring (thats been known and smashed by authorities at any rate) based on websites.....

UK is mostly shopping and historics.
Europe is general porn and historics

oh and in the vein of the thread, 1Mbps/256kbps, but about to get free upgrade to 2Mbs/not sure about the upstream tho. 🙂
