Trying to do the small home network thing with internet connection sharing. Trying to use small computer with Opera and IE6 to connect through the internet via main house computer and its ISP connection. Not working.

1. Let see, connection from main computer to ISP connected and working.
2. Connection between two computers seems to work just fine and can see files/printers on each other computer.
3. Internet connection sharing enabled on main computer.
4. Small computer LAN connection set with TCI/IP to obtain IP address automatically.
5. In IE6 have set up to not dial up a connection and cleared the (auto detect settings, auto configure script, and proxy server) boxes. (not sure what to do in Opera7)

I even disable the zonealarm fire wall to test and still wont work. Any Ideas?😱

How are you connection the second computer to the main computer? With a hub, switch, router? Why is the second computer on DHCP?

The computers are connected directly to each other via two 10/100 Lan modems and an appropriate patch cable. Second computer is on DHCP because the windows help said to do that. Is that wrong?

If I was you, I would look around for a $10 router. It will save you a lot of head aches down the road.
