Internet Connection after clean reformat

On my DELL when I reformat using their CD my internet connection isn't recognized until I install this driver that I have saved on another CD, so I'm wondering if the same thing will happen when I build my custom computer and install the OS for the first time? Thanks.

Yeah, you'll generally have to install the drivers provided by your motherboard manufacturer before you can use your ethernet adapter. It's no big deal, though, since you can boot into Windows and install the drivers before you're forced to activate.

It can get annoying if you change boards and Windows forces you to reactivate before you can install the network drivers, and you end up having to call them to activate it.

How can you install the motherboard driver without an internet connection? Do they give you a CD when you buy a motherboard? I've never had a custom computer so I dunno what kinda software comes with the hardware.

Do they give you a CD when you buy a motherboard?

Generally yes. It should come with a disc that has drivers for the motherboard chipset and any integrated devices. The drivers on the motherboard manufacturer's or the makers of the chipsets' & integrated devices' websites may likely be more recent, however.

Alright lets say it doesn't come with a CD what can I do? I ordered a Gigabyte UD3R btw just in case someone has it and can tell me what it comes with.

Nvm I checked the specs of it and it comes with the Cd.

If a mobo doesn't come with a CD (OR, really, even if it does), then use another computer to download all of the newest drivers from either the mobo's site, or the chipset mfg's site, onto a flash drive, and then load them that way after installing the OS.
