Internet Browsing using IE

I have a 6mb down / 768kb up cable connection through Adelphia, and when I open up IE it takes it a little while before it starts to browse. My homepage is Google of course, but even when I try to go to this site or any other site it's almost like it takes it about 10-15 seconds before it even tries opening up the site. It's almost like it's trying to look up DNS entries first or something. My downloads are lightning fast and I can click on links within a site and it's fast but it's the initial opening up of a site that is "slow starting".

Any ideas? I know if I format my machine it would fix it but I wanted to see if there was something else I could do. I've run spybot and trend housecall antivirus and it took care of some spyware and it didn't find any viruses.

Anything else you can think of that might be wrong?

Thanks.

Did that and still was slow. I went ahead and formatted. (it needed it anyways) Now it runs perfect. Thanks for the assistance however. 🙂
