Hi everyone,

Can anybody suggest a fix to the web browsers inability to play media content from the web?
Neither IE8 or Google Chrome, or FireFox would play.
The PC DOES play media files from CD, DVD, or from the Hard Drive without any problems.
In IE advanced Internet settings - ALL of the boxes in regards to playing media content (sound, video, animation, etc) are checked.
Uninstalling and Reinstalling Audio Drivers would not fix the problem.

WinXP Home Edition SP3
Video and sound are both on board.
ATI function driver for high definition audio ATI AA01
Realtec High Definition Audio
Live! Cam Voice (Mic)
Windows Media Player 11

Thank you.

Depends on what player is needed. Make sure you have Adobe Flash installed. Most sites that have video content will tell you what player or other application is needed and give you a link to it.

Thank you mpilchfamily for your help.
A codec pack installation helped the issue somewhat, but only the re-installation of the Windows and drivers took complete care of the problem.
