I was wrong. It's not 170 branches, it's 235.

Perhaps you geniuses can call them and find out why they went to a 10 day period on electronic bank to bank bill pay.

I don't know much about the banking industry as a whole, but I do know I wouldn't use a bank that dresses people up like Bumble Bees from a cheesy TV show to sell their bank to consumers. https://www.ibc.com/">Text</a> click around for the best Bumble bee ad.

Also with Bill Pay the bank might be actually sending an actual check to where ever you are having it paid to.

The banks print tons of checks from other customers bulk them together and then ship them all at once to save on shipping, it isn?t necessarily a completely electronic transfer like when you go to the website of the business you want to pay and they take it strait out of you bank electronically.

So this makes it OK to go from 3 days to 5 days and now 10 days?

Why is everyone so apologetic for big business on here?

They usually ship them overnight DHL and they get processed same day. Your bank must be cheap and shipping them out media mail or something to save a buck.

here is what actually happened:

dave went to pay something late on friday (the 5th). the bank didn't have an electronic transfer set up for the payee. so they had to mail it out, which can take up to 5 business days. as it was late on friday, the bank didn't mail it out that day. saturday and sunday the bank was closed. today is a federal holiday, so the bank is closed again. so tomorrow is really day 1. this is also a 4 business day week (which doesn't get us to 5). then there are two more weekend days. and so the 5th day would be next monday, the 15th. 15 - 5 = 10.

May be awesome but not true.

I have an electronic transfer set up with that account.

The above scenario still does not excuse the bank for standard 10 day electronic bill pay.

I might have missed it so I'm going to ask again. Who the hell do you use as your bank?

I have account with Bank of Oklahoma, USAA, and a small credit union here in Tulsa. I have never had an online bill pay take more than 2 days. Never.

It's IBC. They have a bunch of branches down there by you in Tulsa.

It looks like Credit Unions are not subject to Check 21 at this point.

Interesting.....

My credit union follows Check 21. I know because I installed a bunch of new computer equipment and did a massive software update to bring them into compliance.

Well fine. No one has been able to explain IBC's bill pay day creep.

They were the only bank within 20 miles.

They closed the local branch so we have to travel into Grove or Vinta which is 20 miles in each direction.

There is a Bank of Oklahoma in Grove in the Walmart.

Do you have to have a physical location to go to?

i'm guessing with his bar he has quite a bit of cash every week, perhaps several times a week. i wouldn't trust it to an atm. maybe i'm just old fashioned. i'm not even sure if you can make deposits to your bank with a competitor's atm, if he doesn't have any local atms.

Wow, at least have some sort of semblance of trying to keep up.

The bar was a swindle.

Lost that and everything I own back last Feb 27th.

You have to say that to the VP of the bank too.

He was just as duped.
