internet access through cellphone?

So I was thinking of signing up for this sprint cell phone deal , which comes with free unlimited internet. But I was curious if its possible to connect my laptop to the cellphone, so that I can use the phone like a internet connection...

Any idea if I can do that, and how to do it?

It would be nice to be able to surf the internet from virtually anywhere...

we use sprint cellphones for connecting our laptops to internet at jobsites ... pretty fast speeds 384ish ... very stable $50 unlimited data package ... (might be a company rate tho) ... dont have the full details on the phone or the plan with me ... hth ...

If you want to google around a bit, I think the term used for that is "tethering"

I've done it with the a900 on my mac and its pretty fast.
then I tried with the 6700... it tends to freeze up. still need to work out the bugs from the settings I think.

I've done it with the cable only with my a900

It's the mac mini, and the A900 works both tethered with the wire as well as bluetooth.
