I need to send a money order to a guy in Canada.
I picked one up at my Credit Union....but I just noticed it is not an "International Money Order"

Does this matter?
Will he be able to cash it?

He may have to deposit it rather than cash it but will probably have no problems other than that.

You may want to contact him and ask. When I sent MOs to Canada, they have always asked for International ones.

I got a MO from someone in the US that was from a bank or something, and my bank considered it like a check and the time for it to clear was 30 days...

It's really best to get them from the post office.

TD. They won't accept a MO unless it says International on it. Mostly because it says right on the MO "Only negotiable in the US" :) I think I can deposit a personal check from the US but it takes a dogs age to clear I think.

Last time I needed an international money order I went to a store (Bel Air iirc) and the reciever had no problems cashing it. And USPS MOs do say only negotiable in the US.
