in my mind, the simple fact that it's spam means that it is a scam of some sort.

 

It is legit,but they are going to charge you an arm and a leg to show you how to go about getting one.

Not really a scam. "International Driving Permits" have been around for years. What they are selling is basically a piece of identification that confirms that you know how to drive. It is based on the assumption that you give accurate information but there is almost always no followup. Internationally it is used to fool local police and here in the US its used by kids to buy booze. Anyone that sells alcohol or cigarettes usually knows about these things.

To get a international drivers license in Canada all you need to do is a written test but you must already have a valid drivers license to take the test. There's no way you can't be ticketed cause you have an internation license tho or there would be obvious problems

Hmm, interesting stuff. I'm legal to drink (way old ) and don't smoke.....so basically, if you try to use this thing as ID, anyone will laugh at you, huh?

Like Roger said, it's legit. I had to get one when I went to Germany in '76. Unfortunately, here in the U.S., it's not recognized as your primary license for U.S. citizens. It's for US citizens to use abroad instead of having to qualify for each country's particular license, or for foreign nationals driving here in the US.

Well I used to work @ the DMV and all an International lic is is a license that is translated in 5 languages and confirms that you know how to drive, however it is only valid when you have your original license and both licenses together are your internationa.
