Okay everyone,

I bought the Toshiba m35x-s109 notebook the other day at Best Buy, when they had it on sale, and
it seems great and everything except I'm bothered by the fact that it doesnt have internal wireless.

I want to have wireless on this puppy, so I will at least go out and buy a pcmcia card to get that.

However, I heard that internal wireless gets a much better signal usually because of the antenna that is built into the screen.

If I am missing out on a lot by having external wireless, I would like to switch to internal. So if I have to I will sell my notebook on ebay, and go out and buy a better one.

How does the signal strength compare from internal to external cards? are there any good external cards/solutions which you would recommend me, in order to get a good signal?

also I've heard that the power consumption is less on an internal adapter. is this true, and if so how much less? how much battery power would it save me?

I know for a fact that the internal mini pci card in my laptop get's better signal strength then my other laptop that has the d-link pcmcia card. Even though the d-link card is set for transfer rates up to 108mb I got better rates on the internal 11mb mini pci card. So if you can, I would suggest getting an internal mini pci card if you can, the ones I have seen are about as much as a good pcmcia card.
