Looking for recommendations on whats out there, whats good, whats bad etc.
Our company HAS to make the change from Microsoft Postoffice Mail ASAP, and we have a very fine and stable email server for external email (running MDaemon) but we ahve many employees that do not require and are not 'allowed' to have external internet email, so we need a good solid internal only email server package.

ANY and ALL suggstions/comments welcome.

Thanks.

How many people? If it's a small number of people, you can get those Email server in a box type solutions from most places for around $2000 for maybe 20-30 licenses. It's a great solution for a small business....and even better cause it won't be microsoft. Just do research to make sure virus scanners work on it. Even if it is internal, it only takes one computer to get infected and the rest are screwed. :p

Well it'd be 50+ and growing. We/I have no problem with MS, in fact I hate to say its probably preferred as everyone but me here is pretty computer illiterate, so if/when I leave I dont want to leave them high and dry. Ideally I was looking for just a software solution, never even thought of those "server in a box" jobs...

I thought MDaemon could stop users/clients from accessing webmail?

Or am I thinking wrong?

Otherwise what about Exchange?

If MDaemon can... Im missing it. Ill look agian right now.

Exchange is the logical suggestion, however after looking at it even a little bit, it seems like MUCH more than is needed...
