Anyone have any idea what it rises to? I'm doing 40 minutes of cardio with ~30 at 85% theoretical max heart rate.

The boy has the flu with a low grade fever (100). The fever is the bodies attempt to fight off the virus, iirc. So if I'm reaching that nearly every day, for a sustained time, shouldn't my ability to stay well increase, ignoring the benefits of exercise on the immune system?

Thoughts? Thanks.

I'm under the impression that your body regulates your tempurature to 98.6 regardless of physical activity. If it's going up significantly, something is wrong. Also... who is The boy?

This isn't true. 98.6 isn't even normal for most of the population. With everything, there's a standard deviation and only 68% of individuals are within one standard deviation of the mean. There's a ton of variation among the population. It also decreases as you get older.

If you're a regular exerciser, your body will accommodate for the increased heat production by secreting sweat and vasodilating veins in your skin. However, you do gain several degrees before you reach steady-state. Many individuals work out around 100 degrees F. Some people suggest that increasing body temperature via exercise or sauna/jacuzzi not only makes the conditions sub-optimal for bacteria proliferation, but it also activates intrinsic pyrogens and immune compounds that allow the body to fight the bacteria better. It makes sense with logic flow, but there's not too much research to support this. IMHO, a light jog and a warm bath help, but that could be for psychological and tactile reasons rather than immunological.
