Intermittent wireless connection

My wireless connection has been very intermittent for the last couple months. I initially had a D-Link 1000AP access point hooked to a Netgear RT314 router. For about 6 months it worked fine. Then all of a sudden I couldn't establish a consistent wireless connection. I can connect and even use the internet fine for a little while, but after about 30 seconds of use the signal strength falls to zero. This was happening with 3 different PC cards (Orinoco clone, Linksys WPC11 v3.0, and Linksys WPC11 v2.5), so I figured it was due to the access point.

So I bought a new D-Link 614+ wireless router, thinking it would solve my problem. After setting it up yesterday I found that I still had exactly the same problem. My wired connection was just fine, but any wireless connection I attempted was intermittent at best. The Orinoco performed a little better than the two Linksys cards, but they both wouldn't work reliably.

I am using 2 laptops, one Win2K, one WinXP. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.
