intermittent buzzing sound

Hey guys i have a strange buzzing sound i'm trying to diagnose the sound is intermittent and i notices it sometimes goes away when my hand is near the case? has anyone hear of anything like this?
I build my computer in Dec 2012 and this is the first issue I have.

Is this coming through the speakers or from within the case itself?

Is this a built system?

Sometimes if I don't have the sides on cases tightly enough they will do this.

I had a system with a fan that would do this at certain speeds (it was a DFI board with some nice software for fan speed control). If you think it's a fan stop each one at a time and see who the culprit is.

If it's coming through the speaks, use some compressed air to dust off the audio connection, and the board/sound card itself while you're at it.

hey thanks for a quick response
my friend and i build this system. its not coming thru the speakers its coming from the case itself
I removed the side of the of the case and it didn't seem to help that much.
the case i'm using is Antec 302
i'm going to try to tighten ssd and hard drive later on but its really hard to tell where its actually coming from and I will also try to play with the fans

OK, does the buzzing ever change pitch?

SSD should not be making any, but a mechanical drive could. Is there a disc in the CD/DVD drive?

If it's not coming from the case, should be pretty easy to diagnose: just start unplugging things till the sound goes away.

yes sort of but its intermittent sounds like a bee but i checked no bee's
really I can just unplug ssd or hard drive while computer is on? yes i have cd/dvd drive but nothing is in it should I unplug is just for good measure?
i should prob make a video

Does it feel as if something is not making contact or about to short out? He said it sometimes stops when he touches the case, or even if his hand is near it.

Could it be a ram stick is going?

Yeah when my hand is near it stop most of the time. i also noticed last night that when i press against the wire leading to ssd drive it also stops. want to record this because it kind of difficult to explain

Yes, that really is significant!

And U R explaining just FINE.

Can you shut down Windows down and unplug the system, ground yrself (keep touching metal) and disconnect the SDD and reconnect it? I mean also at the mobo end. When U say it stops when U press against the SDD wire, U mean the lead from the PSU to the drive? The power wire? Or, the data cable?

Do you have another HDD in the system or is the SSD the only one? If so, do you have a spare drive you might hook up to test things?

Edit: might also be one of your fans not being healthy. But I might try disconnecting and reconnecting yr drive first. Don't tighten it, REMOVE it at both ends (drive cables and mobo cable) and put it back.

Sounds like fan or hdd vibration causing something else in the case to make noise. I would start by moving the HDD to a different slot, and/or tying up loose cables with zip-ties.

Hey guys thanks for everyone input. so I cleaned off all the fans specially my GPU and power supply. I also moved my hard drive and its been quite for the last day so i'm hoping that solved my problem. I will report back in few days
