If anyone is on Sympatico, you will probably see InterMail somewhere in the headers of an e-mail message sent from your computer.

I have searched all over to find out more information on InterMail... with no luck.

Is this a standard MTA? Anyone use it? What platform does it run on?

I am wondering why if someone had there own mail server setup and was sending e-mail through it, why would InterMail info be present in the headers, when I am under the impression that there is no reason for the mail to go through a Bell/Sympatico mail server, or whatever InterMail is.

Thanks

Thanks Garion!

Now, any idea why InterMail would show up in the mail headers of messages that were exclusively sent through the users own fully capable mail server (Exim for example), with a dynamic IP using dyndns.org and a domain pointed to the IP of the server (which is of course dynamically updated) and properly setup MX records that have no mention of the Bell/Sympatico network?
