I have the screen portion from a Toshiba Tecra M4 and I'm wondering if it's possible to modify it so that it's compatible with a desktop. I've already figured out how to get the screen to work with a desktop but I still need to find out how to get the digitizer to work. Any ideas or help would be appreciated.

This is totally dependent on whether or not there's a proprietary interface between the Tecra and the Wacom digitizer. If you're lucky they used a standard serial (RS232 type, probably without the voltage conversion, or maybe I2C) or some sort of direct USB port. If this were the case you could connect it directly to the desktop motherboard. Then maybe the software would recognize it. Otherwise you'd have to dig up datasheets on the ICs on the digitizer then teach a microcontroller to translate the signals for the computer to understand.

I'm not sure if this means anything but when I setup the tablet in Linux, it detects is as a serial Wacom tablet. Looking at the wires the colors also match that of RS232, and there happens to be 9 of them. However the other end of this cable connects into one larger one that the monitor and others connect into. Is it possible to just sever those wires and connect it into something like this?
