Interesting twist in overclocking my Gainward Ti200.

I just recieved my gainward card several days ago and I am pretty happy with it.

I do have one extremely annoying little problem that I have never seen before. When I use Coolbits to overclock (I know its limited to 220/500, but thats enough for right now for me until I add a new hsf and remount the memory sinks with AS alumina thermal epoxy.)

Anyway the problem is that it will reset the memory to 400 sporatically, while leaving the processor clock speed at 220. With the software that came with it Expert(something), it would sporatically reset both to default.

What the heck is going on? I used to have a Geforce II MX card in here and was using NVMax to tweak, is this somehow related?

Help!

Not a good idea to use Coolbits and that expert thingy at the same time. Take disable coolbits. I ran coolbits and powerstrip together once and it kept setting my core and ram frequencies to default on startup, which annoyed me as hell. Finally disabled coolbits and works like a charm now.

Coolbits and Ginward's "Expert" tweak utility conflict with one another, the Expert utility tried to over-ride the settings selected in Coolbits.
Delete the Coolbits entry from the Registry.

Thanks Rand! I figured I would probably have to edit my registry since coolbits came as a .reg file.

I have uninstalled it and am going to get both the new nvmax (my two older ones don't support this card) and see, because it was still doing it even with coolbits disabled. I can't say for certain, but it seems to do it when it comes back from power saving mode. Its like not refreshing the overclock after it turns the video back on. (Do video cards nap too or just shut off the monitor?)

Its going to bug me enough I am already seriously thinking about reloading anyway, I just hate all the updates for my OS and other software (Nortons mainly) Anyone know how where the updates reside? Or is that something you have to fish out of windows temp dir?

TIA

NVMax's site is down for a rebuild and they don't have it available for download, so I went and got the 3.02 Powerstrip. I really like how its laid out, we shall see if it fixes the problem. It had an option to refresh clocks on wake-up, so maybe that will fix it.
