??? this is a revelation to you? you really didn't get the jokes whenever you saw them on the show? that's why everyone loved 'the simpsons'... it was extremely intelligent and funny. it was a show made for smart adults that would also be watchable by kids.

Some of them are more subtle and I didn't pick up on them til reading this page. Some of them are completley obvious, not sure why these ones are on the site.

the only one i didn't pick up on was the cape arbuckle one. all the rest is stuff anyone learns in middle and high school.
