Interesting Idea

Well, first of all there would be a lot of dust issues having the case open like that. Also, because it has no sides, noise would certainly be an issue too. If you transport your computer to LAN parties and whatnot, you run the risk of breaking a part with that open case. And if you accidentally touch a part of the PC with static electricity in your hand,...🙁🙁

the list goes on...

I believe there was already a post on this, but yeah, what I said above is why this thing isn't everyone's first choice in a case

It's called open benched systems and has been done since dirt was invented. The dust crowd not withstanding, there are advantages and disadvantages to it and I think didn't we just see a few other threads discussing more or les the same thing?

As far as the LAN party thing goes, I can't see anything more convenient than having it all on a rolling, yet stable cart. Yes, you'd need a bigger vehicle to fit it all in, but it's about as LAN ready as it gets!

Yeah, but it offers less protection-what if, in the excitement of the game, someone hit a part while the PC was running and discharged static into the system?, or what if in the process of transporting it to the LAN party you hit the case on a stair railing or something and smashed your 7900GTX?

stuff like that wouldnt happen with a fully enclosed case

Or what if you were drinking and gaming??
Heaven forbid you spill some beer on your rigg......zzzzzttttt!!!

I guess I could come back with a quip like my aluminum baseball bat is ready for payback on any stupid stuff, but I see your point, except, having a case is hardly a waterproof solution.

So in the end there are advantages and disadvantages. My beef here is that haven't we seen this subject discussed in like at least three other threads in the past few days?

That seems a whole lot better then any case i've ever had! Can someone explain why everyone doesn't use this? There are probably some flaws i don't see...

Bears! We established this in another thread about the same "case." You don't want a bear getting at your hardware, or he'll just mess everything up.
