Try reading the title;
7900 series (except 7950)

And keep in mind you posted two days after the thread was made.

A whole two days huh? Wow, imagine having to wait two days for a vid card to come in stock. I checked his link. It seems it did pertain to the thread title. Showing all of the evga 7900 line including 7900GT, GTX and also the 7950.

Thread title as of 6/8/2006 @10:34pm EST: "eVGA's entire 7900 series (except 7950) is on "Backorder""

Ok, before you tell me to learn to read, just be a big guy and tell me what I'm missing?
Thanks so much in advance.

You have got to be kidding. I doubt they were all out of the entire 7900 for a day or so. Not too mention that Monarch, Tiger Direct, ZZF, etc. have stock. Are you so biased that you would believe that?

Evga's website is ALWAYS like that. It always seems everything is on backorder on that site and it also seems like every other retailer (like newegg, etc.) has them in stock (as link implies).

I tried an RMA through EVGA, and I got another card that also failed after 2 days. After browsing the web and EVGA's forums, I realized that my problems were not isolated--there are hundreds of people that had the exact same thing happen. Unfortunately, they decided to play RMA lotto, with the hope that eventually they would get a working card. I bailed out and returned the original card to Newegg for a refund, and sent the RMA paper weight back to EVGA. Stellar service doesn't make up for selling a defective product, IMO.

Well yes and no. Would you go back to eVGA for a future card, now knowing just how stellar their service is? I would...so they still win in the long run. I think they're a good company and deserve their business.

This 7900 debacle is just very unfortunate...but certainly not isolated to only one company. The companies with issues are definitely going to have to use their CS to battle it out for future customers on this round. evga should do fine in that regard.

Copied from Hard:

UPDATE 5/30/06

EVGA Came forth with more information concerning this issue.

EVGA would like to thank its forums members for posting system specs and the details about the issues they are having. EVGA takes these matters very seriously and is looking into all post to extract the data from them.

Below are some key facts regarding this issue that we want to share with everyone:

EVGA?s 7900GT Series total RMA rate is from 0.04% to 1.9% per different SKU?s (which includes cards that had no problems found)

19% of the users who requested a 2nd time RMA out of the all RMA still experienced either the same issue or new issues unrelated to the VGA card itself.

EVGA will continue to perform better product quality control ensuring a reliable and stable product. At the same time we are also improving our technical support skills marking sure to provide a better customer service experience with EVGA?s product.

EVGA has observed some users pushing the card to an unreachable amazing clock speeds and causing the GPU and/or memory to fail permanently and this has gotten our attention.

All over-clocking exceeding our product preset clock/memory speeds out of the box is NOT recommended. Some users may be able to over-clock with higher speeds, but this may lead to hidden issues like artifacting or random lock ups. That is why we have created several different clocked products for 7900 series.

We encourage EVGA customers who have problems to contact our technical support staff first to get the problem fixed ASAP. Our support number is 888-880-3842 24 hours a day 7 days a week.

Thank you to all the the moderators and members? continuous support to our community.

Topic Title: Interesting: eVGA's entire 7900 series (except 7950) is on "Backorder"
Topic Summary: Could eVGA be stopping the entire product line until Nvidia builds reliable cards?
Created On: 06/06/2006 08:27 PM

Where do you get 06/08/2006? Its not, its 06. Even his edit is on 06. Again, when he made the topic, he said newegg was out of stock. Not when you decided to post in it. Then wreckage posts on 08, making his post useless, not the OP's topic.

Bias has nothing to do with it. newegg gets stock in every single day. He did not say anything about any other store, just newegg. Its very easy to believe that newegg was sold out of all their 7900 series cards, when he posted it. Either you overlooked it, or just made a mistake. Admit it, and move on.

Holy Moly.

You are a little slow here. Let me bring you up to speed. The time I indicated was to cover myself in case the thread title was different previous to my viewing it, as in the OP editing it. Not when the thread was originally created. Wow.... Hence my two day comment. Everything is in stock now. Whole thread is pointless at this point.

Im slow? No, that would be your pal wreckage. You did not make yourself actions known. He posted two days after the original post, and them claimed the topic was useless. Saying that newegg has plenty of eVGA cards. Yeah, two days later. He didnt see (my bet), or didnt care that he posted late, and that newegg was out of stock then. You attack, just to attack.

You asked me to tell you what you are missing, I told you. They were out when he posted, and now they are not. Pretty simple. You and you pal jumped on me, just because it was me.

If I didn't make myself completely clear, then my fault. I didn't realize how utterly and completely specific I had to be. I don't mean to jump on you, but you do tend to concentrate on very specific details that most others would normally understand the meaning behind. Like if it made a typo, you would concentrate on the typo but not the content. Makes if very difficult to have a regular conversation with you. And you always feel attacked because whether you realize it or not, you kinda start it. I know I can't make you understand this because I have tried many times before. You are the way you are, and I am the way I am. We were unfortunately meant to clash. Kinda sad on both parts.

So have a  on me and try to relax a bit, as will I.

Cheers.

Ha! You are such an ATI Tool.

I doubt they ran out of everything 2 days ago. The thread title and summary imply that eVGA is stopping production due to unreliable cards. All FUD and misinformation, which you happily support.
