Guy won my auction for $37 total.

his paypal payment shows a UK address. He sends me an email saying he made a mistake and sends me a US address.

He's got a 347 positive feedback and they look like legit auctions. just kind of wary that he has 1 address for paypal and one for shipping to.

Refund the payment and ask him to repay with a confirmed US shipping address.

and if he can't, i assume no sale then?

glad we cleared up the question of whether you're a douchebag or not - a resounding yes.

for a $37 item? i wouldn't doubt that someone would do it, but wouldn't you try to go after something bigger? and isn't it usually the other way around? they try to sell something they don't have? i think that would be easier.

i emailed him and asked him if i refund his money would he pay again with a confirmed US address.

I agree it is a small time item, but look at it this way when thieves use a cc they typically do a small purchase first to verify the card is valid, or maybe this crook is just stupid?

Probably legit but a good idea to ship to his verified US address. ;)
That is quite strange, I'd be cautious also.
