I have a 19" sceptre monitor that I was using with my windows rig (it has been used on two rigs for 3 years) anyways I decided to try out linux on another old computer, so I hook it up, get linux up, and try to install the GUI, I apparently didn't input the correct parameters for either my video card (on board) or the monitor, as in linux it just shows up as a command prompt over the grey background when I try to run the GUI, otherwise it is fine (command prompt) I enabled the expand beyond the monitor setting as well, to see if that fixed the problem with the grey, it didn't, so I hook it back up to my windows rig, and the machine posts, then sends the signal to the monitor to power on, and the light goes from yellow to green, only no picture shows at all, I hook up another monitor to the computer and all is well, is there some sort of setting I messed up internally on the monitor? is there a way to reset factory defaults?

TIA

if you have your manual or some documentation, isn't there a button combination (something like holding down two buttons at once for a few seconds) that will reset the settings to factory default ....

sorry, i'm not sure which two buttons they are though ..
