Interesting discussion. I don't agree with it.

Crime is predominantly committed by the lower/lower middle class. Minorities have a much greater chance of being in the lower/lower middle class. Because of this, both parents (or a single mother) tend to work more hours and spend less time at home with children. Unsupervised teenagers lead to more crime and continue the cycle of poverty and crime.

Ya, that's a very big part of it. A simple experiment would be to observe a town with nothing but white people consisting of mixed classes. I'm sure the results would prove that those in poverty who are generally considered "white trash" are the ones committing the majority of the crimes.

Another good experiment would be to mix a bunch of races where each race consisted of mixed classes. Again, I am sure the results would show that all of those in poverty from each race would be the ones committing most crimes.

As politically incorrect as it will be for me to point out, my county is 97% white. Crime? Besides DWI's and a few charges here and there for marjiuana, the occasional break-in of a hunting camp, and of course, the occasional kids bike being stolen, or kid caught shoplifting gum. In fact, we have to import prisoners for our county jail (from the state)to make it worth having.

this is not exactly racist...white people tend to be better educated, and they tend to commit crimes which are much more difficult to prove and easier to get away with. Enron was an exception. White people also tend to be richer, which means they're not going to take as many risks in their crimes. As was posted earlier, knocking over a 7-11 for $500 is only worth it if you have nothing to lose.

just look at how they can't even hold a regular job.
OK, that's racist. Of course, it depends on whether he's going by statistics/background, or if he honestly thinks that skin color influences your competence as a worker. "can't" is the problem word.

The second was the police are not going to arrest a white guy usually...it's probably one of 'them' that are doing those arrests.
I don't exactly know what the second part of that is supposed to mean, but the first is true.

1/3 really isn't that much. The guy might be slightly racist, but it sounds like you're overreacting.

Any homogeneous community that isn't dirt poor is generally low-crime, regardless of race. It's poor communities and mixed communities that tend to have more problems.

not correlated? You mean not a direct cause of? 'Cause statistics from all over show blacks commit more crime.....rather i should say are CONVICTED for crimes more often, much more so than their numbers would predict....correct me if i'm wrong
