The US has 76 vetoes, just about all of them have been made to protect Israel.

What's wrong with "protecting" Israel?

Protecting terrorists .........

Are you calling the Israelis terrorists??????

They are clearly terrorizing palestinian civilians => terrorists.
Also you might want to read up on your earlier history of the state of israel .... not nice.

And how come?
Iraq does not comply with 2 UN resolutions => US goes to War
Israel does not comply with MULTIPLE UN resolutions => US protects them

I suppose the same could be asked about Iraq, but the real question is, "Why can 1 country repeatedly veto UN Resolutions regarding Israel, then turn around and throw a hissy fit when other(2+) countries threaten to veto 1 Resolution(more accurately: alleged/potential resolution) against Iraq?"

Exactly what I was going to post.

The U.S. will always protect Isreal, everyone can feel free to peacefully bitch about the policy but it is not changing.

As far as the hissy fit comment, life is not fair and not everyone gets treated equally.

Its actually 16 or 17. Plus they lost and signed a cease fire. Israel has never lost a war, even though they were attacked by other countries. Lets be honest. The UN screwed over Israel by not giving them all the land Israel was promised. Israel isnt terrorizing any more than the palestinians are. Arafat and Sharon both need to go.

Israel has taken alot more land than the UN promised them

What does the states get out of protecting Israel?

An ally and little else. We protect Israel because no one else will, willingly. If we didnt protect them they would be attacked, and would forced to use nuclear weapons against its enemies to avoid their millions being slaughtered.

The land that Israel took was during an act of war from an opposing group. Remember that the Arab countries went after Israel in '47 and '67. Their aim was to destroy Israel. Of those couintries only Eygpt has renounced the declaration.

The Arab countries caused the initial problem and refused to accept the Palestians that were displayed (driven out) by Israel occupation.. As long as Israel is at war, they can not afford to have a 20 mile choke point.

The Palestinian have never renounce war and they wish to be considered a state.

The UN screwed up royally in the beginning when they were under the strong influence of the Arab/British and Russian influence groups.

The desision by the UN to creates the Nation of Israel is the worse mistake they ever made. If they hadn't of done that the world wouldn't be in the mess it is now.

Well let us first presume Iraq has violated only two UN Security Council resolution, which isn't true, but we'll say it is.

Care to name or at least provide a source for all these 'multiple' UN Security Council resolutions which Israel is in violation? Shouldn't be too hard, thanks.

Its not the creation of Israel, but the location of it that was the mistake. If the Jews wanted a worthless peace of dessert, the UN should have given them a piece of sahara....or texas.

Wow. Sounds just like some newspapers in Germany during the 20's.
Need I to remind you what happened in the 30's?
