I'm running an e6300, currently clocked at 3.15Ghz, I had been concerned that my temps were a bit on the high side, though certainly not in the danger zone. Intel TAT had been showing core temps in the high 40's at idle and up into the mid 50's under moderate use. I was a bit worried that under a heavy load these might really come up. Anyway, I ran dual prime over night with TAT in the background and found my core temps at 41 and 40 respectively when I checked on them this morning, looked at the log and found that after the cores got into the mid to high 50's they started dropping rapidly and stabilized in the low 40's for the last 8 hours of the torture test. I'd say score one for the automatic fan controller on the Gigabyte 965P-S3. This, by the way, using a Sunbeam Silent Whisper HSF and OCZ +5 thermal grease. FYI after writing this post they stand at 48 and 47... odd, but a bit comforting.
